Black Chamber of Commerce Celebrates The Orange
County Black Chamber of Commerce proudly presents its 17th awards
banquet on September 6th at the Anaheim Convention Center. “California
Soul,” is this year’s historical theme and the event
will recognize individuals, both national and local, and community
institutions for reaching significant milestones in California and
Orange County education and history. Honorees include Metropolitan
Water District and Gilbert Ivey; 20 Year Chamber icon Marlene R.
Dyce; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. celebrating its 100 years
of community service; along with Dr. James Frank and Alan Woo. Look for the
night to bring out the “Soulness of California” by featuring
and highlighting the works of the California Cultural and Historical
Endowment Board. The National Park Service and the California State
Parks will also be featured. Look for several historical booths
and displays to enhance and enlighten the attendees. The OC Black Chamber advocates and promotes business and economic development within public and private sectors, resulting in a sound economic base that supports the survival and self-determination of the African-American community with Access to Information as the key element.
