OC BLACK CHAMBER TO CELEBRATE 27TH ANNUAL BANQUET CELEBRATING ORANGE COUNTY’S VISIONARY EDUCATIONAL LEADERS & OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY LEADERS

Southern California- August 1, 2018— Orange County Black Chamber will celebrate exceptional education and community leaders at its 27th Annual Banquet – The Black Chamber Blues Session. This year’s event will be held at the City National Grove of Anaheim and will feature the music and blues styling of the Charles Owens Big Band and the melodic voice of Barbara Morrison. The Blues Session will include a silent auction at 5:30 pm and dinner at 7:00 pm. Tickets are available at $150 per person or tables of eight at $1500. Complimentary parking is included.

The Black Chamber will be presenting the following awards to these dedicated individuals:

2018 Distinguished Service Award - Dr. Al Mijares, Superintendent, Orange County Department of Education.

2018 Community Service Award - Dr. Glenn Roquemore, President, Irvine Valley College.

2018 Community Service Award - Dr. Linda Rose, President, Santa Ana College.

2018 Community Service Award - Harold Hutchison, former banking executive and US Air Force veteran.

“This year’s annual banquet will highlight and celebrate special Orange County visionary educational leaders,” said an exhilarated and animated Bobby McDonald, Executive Director of the Black Chamber. “At the chamber we are truly excited to recognize distinguished perennial community leaders that played a meaningful and important role as ground breakers and who have made a significant impact in Orange County’s business, education, and veteran leadership development.”

The Black Chamber Education Fund (BCEF) will continue to recognize and award book scholarships to several students for their outstanding contributions throughout the year for deeds that are essential and impactful in our community. The BCEF will also recognize several veteran students.
